Keeping Children Safe in Education, commonly known as KCSIE, is the statutory safeguarding guidance that all schools and colleges in England must follow.

It explains the legal duties schools have to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people under the age of 18.

At Kings Park School, KCSIE guides our approach to:

• Identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns
• Supporting learners who may be at risk of harm
• Online safety and filtering and monitoring
• Safer recruitment and staff conduct
• Managing concerns or allegations about adults
• Child-on-child abuse
• Working with families and safeguarding partners
• Teaching learners how to recognise risk and ask for help

All KPS staff read Part One of KCSIE and follow the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures. Staff also receive regular safeguarding training and updates.

Our safeguarding arrangements are reviewed whenever statutory guidance changes, ensuring that the safety and wellbeing of our learners remain at the centre of everything we do.
