NSPCC - support for children & families

Every child deserves to feel safe!

The NSPCC, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, is a leading UK children’s charity. It works to prevent abuse and neglect, protect children and help young people and families access the support they need.

The NSPCC provides advice, information and practical support for children, parents, carers and professionals. You do not need to be certain that abuse has taken place before asking for advice. If something doesn’t feel right, it is always okay to speak up.

  • Abuse or neglect

  • Online safety
  • Anxiety, low mood or difficult feelings
  • Self-harm or suicidal thoughts
  • Feeling unsafe

Childline counsellors will listen without judgement and help young people think about what they would like to happen next.

Calls are free from most UK landlines and mobile phones, can be made without phone credit and will not appear on the caller’s phone bill.

Young people can also use Childline’s online one-to-one chat or create a private account to send a message to a counsellor.
