KPS rewards
At Kings Park School, every achievement matters.
Our Reward Ducks celebrate each learner’s individual effort, progress and success. They are not awarded using a one-size-fits-all approach, because achievement looks different for every child.
For one learner, success might mean completing a challenging piece of work. For another, it could be entering the classroom, asking for help, trying something new, managing a difficult feeling or showing kindness to somebody else.
A Reward Duck might recognise:
- Personal progress
- Effort and perseverance
- Kind words and thoughtful choices
- Positive engagement with learning
- Courage when facing something difficult
- Using a regulation strategy
- Following an instruction
- Building independence
- Helping or encouraging another learner
- Achieving an individual target
- Showing a love of reading
- Trying something new
Our learners are never compared with one another. Staff consider each child’s individual needs, starting points, circumstances and goals when recognising an achievement.
Something that appears small to somebody else may represent an enormous step for that learner. We make sure those moments are noticed, understood and celebrated.
