At Kings Park School, we want every learner and family to feel heard. If something is worrying you or has not gone as expected, please tell us. We will listen, respond fairly and work with you to put things right. Raising a concern or complaint will not affect your child’s education or support.

How to raise a concern or complaint

Stage 1: Informal resolution
Please speak to your child’s class teacher, pastoral lead or a member of the senior leadership team. You can contact them through the school office. We aim to resolve concerns within 10 working days.

Stage 2: Formal complaint
If your concern remains unresolved, please send a written complaint to the Headteacher through the school office. An email counts as writing. If you need help putting your complaint in writing, we will support you. We will acknowledge it within 3 working days and aim to provide a written response within 10 working days.

Stage 3: Independent review panel hearing
If you remain dissatisfied after Stage 2, you can request a hearing before a panel appointed by or on behalf of the proprietor. The panel will have at least three members, including one independent member with no prior connection to Kings Park School. You may attend and bring someone with you. We aim to hold the hearing within 30 working days of your request and provide written findings and recommendations within 10 working days of the hearing.

Our Complaints Policy explains each stage in full, including how to complain about the Headteacher, a governor or the proprietor. Please contact the school office if you need the policy in another format or help using the process.

If you believe Kings Park School is failing to meet the Independent School Standards after completing our procedure, you can REPORT YOUR CONCERNS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

 If you believe a child is at risk of harm, please raise this immediately through our safeguarding arrangements. Call 999 if a child is in immediate danger.
